Life is not black or white.  Nor is it all shades of Grey.  The basis for each witch to use for a decision tree is as follows;

1. Does it harm anyone?  If it does then most likely this is the wrong type spell for that situation.  Exception to this is if you are fighting to defend either yourself or your community.

2. Does it help the community overall?  If it does then you have cast a spell for the good of others.  If it harms the community you are in then the three fold effect may take over.  Harm someone and you pay in Astral, Darkness, and Physical planes.

3.  Does it only concern me?  Back to the rules of combat.  Different course and different methods.  In short if it helps the community it helps the caster.  Hurts the community Hurts the caster.

If you find yourself asking the above questions then remember the community is first then you look to help yourself.  All spells help someone and some community.  It is up to the caster to decide where to help and how to help.  It is also quite possible to do all of this and never even be seen.  Does this help or harm you?
