What is peace? What do people mean by this word peace? To some people peace means relaxation, calmness, and quiet.  To others peace means happiness, Joy, and love.  I will give you my impressions of PEACE not necessarily your views.

Peace,  at least to me,  is a place where you can go to find calmness, and quiet.  It is a place where the trials of today are washed away from the present and are put on hold for the moment.  This is not to say I have forgotten them or that I am getting rid of them rather they are placed on hold for now while I get the mental distance needed to deal with the situation.   What I find relaxing is a moment in combat, between reloads on both sides,  so you can see why I don't call many places relaxing.

In my travels,  I have found many places that on the surface appear to be quiet, and relaxing.  They were not.  In fact the major problem with them was the shear amount of mental noise.  I have had many methods of reducing the noise  taught to me over the years but the fact remains they are noisy.  This does not render them a bad place rather a place that certain precautions must be made.  In order to find PEACE though one must look for a place within self that allows self renewal.  If your spot for peace is a combat zone so be it.  For others it may be the base of a tree, the foot of a waterfall, the top of a mountain, etc.  Many of these places are peaceful but not quiet.

The only real way to find PEACE is to look within self.  I don't use the term lightly nor do I mean the peace found in death.  I mean the type of PEACE that comes from touching the innermost powerful source you can reach.  Once You have touched this spot then the PEACE is unshakable by any  outside source.  I reach out to that source when I find the need for PEACE and I have found a welcome arm around my shoulders each time.  I have also found quiet, relaxation, calm, and acceptance all from the same place.  It is here where the strongest spells are cast as nothing interferes with the judgment of the caster.

So what is Peace?  It is quite simply a quiet, calm,  and relaxing environment where nothing can disturb my concentration on the task at hand.  Call it what you will but I call it my private garden that travels with me.

PEACE TO ALL WHO READ THIS.

I was wondering at first if you would get to that deep inner peace. How do you explain that state of being. I've tried a couple of times and had to erase them. It just wouldn't make sense. I suppose it's a "zen" thing.

Great post Ghost.

Not necessarily a ZEN thing but rather finding a place within that you find peace in. Your inner image could be a pole, a tree, a waterfall etc... but the feeling you get is one where everything is relaxed, calm, and focused. In some traditions they call this centering and grounding.
