Here it workes like, "think of this when you feel that comming" "Do that when you feel this" And I can't take that. Thanks for the advice though

From my experience, CBT (once it's taken off its leather coat, of course) is about learning to recognise how the thoughts you think affect:
1. Your state of mind
2. Your moods and emotions, and
3. Your behaviour
Something I would have considered well worth learning, since you can then use the same process to:
1. Change your state of mind at will
2. Change your mood or emotion as needed, or
3. Control unwanted behaviour
It does require some self discipline though, but at a level far lower than most magic. As such, it would be a good introduction to working on personal change which is a big component of the magical path.
