Actually fat food is good for you. Ever heard about the LCHF (Low Carb High Fat) diet? It's the nearest natural diet we have in our modern world. Eat as much fat as possible and avoid Carb. Thats hard enough but much helthier and esier than avoiding anything but vegitables.

I don't now about this herb though. But this diet would improve the majority of the peoples health. And it's allmost a "need" for a diabetic (sugar sickness) if they want to live longer.

I would agree with dark shadow, you should aim for a balanced diet, to make the most of any herbs you might take. Herbs do not fulfill their full potential, if you do not change your lifestyle.

In order to answer that question you have to take a look at lots of things. Activity levels and regions of the world all play a part in what will constitute a "balanced" diet.

you also need to understand physiology. There are certain hard and fast rules. The preffered food for heart muscle is fat, the prefffered food for the brain and muscle is carbohydrates, and the preffered food for cells in general is protein. All of these have to be present in the diet in order to keep one healthy.

If a person is seaking help for an illness then most healing arts automaticaly say that there is an imbalance in the body.
Ayuvedic medicine and several others that concentrate on herbal or "natural" remedies, will concentrate on elemental imbalances. (hot, cold, water, wind, earth)They take your symptoms into account and work to rectify the imbalance.

The thought behind the LCHF diet is that the fats will eventually replace the carbs without setting off the drastic insulin response that happens in a high carb low fat diet.

Good fresh friuts and vegetables, with good amounts of proteins, both plant and animal based. As well as whole grains, and natural fats and sweetners will go a long way towards making up a balanced diet.

A good rule of thumb is .... The less it's processed the better it is for you. Artificial sweetners and colors just cause other problems, as do man made fats and flavors.

I agree with April. But LCHF is allso good for other things that the insulin response. It cures "fatness", alot of people today are way to big. And that is not good at all. With LCHF you just can't be fat. You don't eat carb wich binds the fat on the body. You wont have that "blown up" feeling in the stomach. And you will get loads of energy.

The easy explination on LCHF is: The fat you eat each day should be more than carb and protein together. Of course you should eat more protein than carb since you build on protein. Your muscles wont do without it.

Then of course it is as April says, avoid processed food. Even "half processed" if possible, but the "whole processed" is a no no. The point with LCHF is that you need to think a little (wich i would recomend you to do anyway). For example, an egg or two till breakfast. If you have mayonnaise on them, then you have allmost got averything you need for a day. And one more thing, with this diet you wont need to fill your stomach upp. You can do it of course, but you don't need to. You wont be as hungry all the time. And thats a natural responce the body sends out that means "thank you, i'm satisfied"

The LCHF diet includes all that you need. But you need to think a litte. But that you would need to do anyway, or else you wont do with any diet.

well, to me a balanced diet is not having too much or too less of all types of food. i am not telling people to just live on fruits and vegetables but i am telling people to have MORE of fruits and vege and very little fatty foods. to me processed, packed, and junk food is a BIG NO.

from the age of ten till the age of 13, i made my health crap by eating all the unheatlhy food i told you about. plus, i ate extremely spicy food (i couldnt live without spice back then) then i got GORD ( gastro-Oesophageal Reflux Disease). then slowly, my immune system became weak (because of all the wrong food i ate) and i use to be sick with one thing or another all the time. along with this stuff happening to me, my body stopped accepting other foods like:
tomato, youghurt, peanuts, chocolate, junk food, fizzy drinks, water melon, pineapple, oranges, canned food, cheese, cakes, creamy food, cucumber, butter and Many, MANY more. if i atethese things then i would get acid reflux for days or i would get cold and soon fever.
the doctors couldnt figure out whats wrong with me... so i just couldnt eat that food at all...

oneday, mum decided to do ayurveda. then as she studied about these things and saw people who were similar to me... then she decided to make my diet better and startd giving me herbs like triphala and around 27 other herbs which started effecting me slowly but worked.

now i am still recovering but i can eat a few things i havent eaten for years like cucumber, youghurt, peanuts, oranges , pineapples, watermalons and maybe a few more.i still cant eat heaps of things but it has only been a year since i have started taking herbs and havin a good diet and look at the result!
my GORD is almost gone and i can eat the things that i gave up on... plus, i am not being as sick as i used to be.

this is why is am saying : dont eat junk food and preserved food. eat mor vege and fruits. follow the food parymid.keep a balanced diet if YOU wanna live longer without health problems!!!
