This is my favorite herbal recipe! Anytime you're sick, especially if you have a sore throat, it's sure to help.
Hot Lemonade
This is a proportion mix, so you need lemons, honey, and water.
For each lemon you put in (I usually use about six), use one pint (2 cups) of water and one tablespoon honey. Organic lemons are best if you can find/afford them; because you're going to be using the peel, too, you won't have to worry about pesticides!
Pour your water into a large pot and begin heating it. Wash your lemons well, then cut them in half and juice them over the water (seeds are okay, they'll just sink or you can strain them out later). When the lemon water starts steaming, add your honey and stir well! Drink as hot as you can stand it.

I use this everytime I'm ill. If it's just a cold, I usually feel beter the next day and I've used this when I had strep and it eased my thoat pain immensely!
If you make a big batch, pour the whole shebang, lemons and all, into a pitcher and keep it in the fridge for no more than a week. Just heat up a mug when you need it!
Anytime you need to make a new batch, put your already used lemons (I just add whatever's left in the pitcher) back into the new pot, add one or two new lemons and enough water and honey for
all the lemons.
