I don't know about the 'barbaric' times but maybe more like 'mad max'? But seriously, maybe Mother Earth is trying to tell us something. Maybe our technology is distroying the ntural flow of things. Maybe we need to take a step back and regroup, so to speak, and learn how to go back to the basics of survival. Do w really need all our stuff? Not really! As long as we have food and shelter etc. we should be good. Also, we might need to relearn basic instincts.... I guess what I'm trying to say is that we need to learn how to survive without of that technology. We, as humans, suppose to have a 'brain' but it seems to me that the 'animals' have a better take on survival than we do. If anybody or any thing is destroying the world we can only blame ourself for that. Sad but true....Everything in Nature of planet Earth can co-exist but the human race. We always HAVE to controll everthing.

ROMANA, I do agree. There are studies that show how teenagers develop early arthritis in their thumbs from texting so much. This among other things has shown that we are in a time of now now now. No one wants to do anything anymore that involves work. Let me rephrase that, we have become a nation of not wanting to do anything that involves old fashioned ways of doing things no matter how much better it may turn out as a result. What I mean is that there isn't much the average person can do that they cant get a machine or technology to aid them tremendously. When was the last time many people sat down and hand wrote a letter. Seriously. Technology was supposedly the death of ancient civilizations and I dont think we are far off. Technology can be a great thing when used in the right context but so many people lean on it as a way of life and would be lost without it. Myself included. They actually have spells designed to be done on your computer instead of the good ole hands on approach. Really, this is a little disturbing. I cant really think of some really good examples right now but I agree with you and I definitely feel that mother earth is fed up with us as a whole and she isn't punishing us, she is simply breathing and stretching but to us it seems like death, to her it seems like life. Its like when we walk through a field and step on an ant hill. We dont mean to and we may not even realize it, its just what happens in our travels. Well when the earth breaths, sighs, stretches etc and this causes tsunami's and earthquakes etc... it isn't anything personal it is just a result of actions we cant see. In effect she is taking the stroll and we are the ants. Anyway, I had a long day and have some homework to do like usual. LOL See you soon.

HEY! I NEED my computer and my cell phone. Those things are important for communication and for fun. I could do without the long drive everyday, but... No computer means that this coversation wouldn't even be taking place. We couldn't talk to Julian or any of the others that we've become attached to.

There is a middle ground. Be more responsible with what we have. That's the biggest complaint I here from the "old" folks. That and we don't care about each other. I think that if we could turn those things around it would be a much better place.

Well yeah.....I need them too, but what I'm saying is this: There might come a time where we (as humans) have to learn some of the basics of survival again. Like canning instead of freezing, making your own food (now that's a shocker ) etc. Wouldn't it be good to be a little prepared? I don't ant to be without electricity, grocery stores and so on but I guess i could wring a chicken's neck if I get hungry enough...

Can I ask A favor? If we need to ring a chickens neck, can you do it . All jokes aside I get what you mean and I feel the same way. That I think is the one thing that scares me. It doesn't bother me that we may have to resort to cruder less modern means to survive, it scares me that we will have to fight for it just like in mad max. That is my biggest fear. I can see that happening because if you look at any major situation in any state or country,the first thing people do is riot or loot. That is what people do the minute any little bit of control slips and that is scary, so my thoughts are that if there is some major worldwide disaster or some catastrophe then people will just lose control without any authority and it will become a state of marshal law. So I do hope that whatever happens that wringing a chickens neck is the worst we will have to do. If that does ever happen I will just be sure to make sure I live close to you. Ha ha

Sure, i take care of the chickens. Been there, done that, so no problem but to make it easier, we have about a few month worth of MREs. Not my favorite but if one gets hungry enough....
