Ya know this has been coming home to roost lately...

The last few weeks people around me have been making decisions that have had BIG impacts on my life and not for the best either. Examples...

My ex decided that he wanted to go to Denver for Christmas. Ok no biggie, I can deal with that. But because of other issues in his life my visit with my son got cut short and I didn't even get to talk to him on Christmas day. I was supposed to go to one friends house and I cooked enough so that if we had any unexpected drop-ins there would be more than enough to feed them. I already expected my daughter, son-in-law, and grand daughter to show up. I ended up at a different house putting together a dog pen so that, her puppies would have a place to stay outside while she was at work. So no daughter, no grand daughter, and I didn't get to spend any time with my dog (who doesn't live with me yet).

These are decisions that other people made without thinking through how it would impact anyone else. As magical people we should be aware of all the decisions that we make and how it will effect other people. Someone is gonna get hurt, that's life. The best we can do is to try to clean up whatever mess we make and go on with things. We just need to think things through and make the best choices that we can.

In my mind this makes living by "an it harm none" an impossible feat.

Exactly, and unless you plan to be a doormat for everyone else to walk on, it makes it even more unlikely.

The reason that they bother me is because this spell neglects to mention a few things....

1-Is this interfering with free will?

2-Is this ultimately going to cause harm...even a little?

3-Is this for the GOOD OF ALL?

These are things that anyone needs to think of and consider before performing ANY type of magic.

it does not pertain to all other traditions of witchcraft

and remember wicca is just the baby in the lot it hasn't been around for that long

the an it harm none is nothing more than a wiccan conceite
based by Gardner to appease the sheep that follow Christianity and to get them to convert to his way of thinking

true witchcraft is not about doing what others tell you it is about doing what you want and thinking for yourself

those of us who are true witches and walk the old path are not slaves to your 3 fold law
we are not bound by a false morality based on Christendom

we do as we will regardless of the consequences if we feel it is right for us to do so

and what ?
what do you think will happen if we break that morality
what we'll burn in hell?

at this rate wicca might as well declare it's self an alternate branch of Christianity

most who follow it's ways don't even know the reasons for the things they do they do it a certain way simply because it was how they were told to do it

or think in a certain way because it was what they were told to think

never even bothering to question why

Okay...let's use some common sense here, then.

They have to be 'exes' for a reason.

I HAD TO PUT MY 2 CENTS IN ......SOME OF US ON THIS SITE ARE NOT WICCAN AND THEREFORE THE HARM NONE RULE DOESN'T APPLY.
SINCE THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE WITH DIFFERENT PATH THERE ALSO ARE A LOT OF DIFFERENT SPELLS AND/OR OPINIONS. THE ETHICS YOU CHOOSE MIGHT NOT MEAN ANYTHING TO SOMEBODY ELSE. JUST MY THOUGHT....
