In all my research I have never found one. I have found only a few refferences to any such thing and while most were glamours, the only myth I've ever heard of the real thing is in the Loki cycles of the Old Norse. But then Loki was a God and a shapeshifter. Also everytime he used his magic to change shape/sex there was a high price to be paid. Like birthing Slepnir.

Very true! You have to return to your form eventually. So I don't think that shapeshifting is what this young person is looking for. Although curious minds would like to know why there is such an adversion to being male, and such an adversion to dealing with it through more "mundane" channels?

I can understand why he doesn't want to go through "mundane" channels, as they are VERY expensive! Also, he would have to go through a lot of counseling, but as angry as he seems to be he could probably benefit from that anyway.

I wonder if he still lives at home, and if he is in the States. Because if he has left home, and is in the States, I would suggest he set his friends and family down and tell them how he really feels. Then tell them, "From now on, I am going to live as a woman named ____", and do it. That way, he could keep working as a man and be a woman off the job until he could get a job where he could work as a woman.

Yes, he would probably need to change jobs, and possibly his place of residence, too, unless he owns his home. He could also face a lot of discrimination, harrassment, and hate -- exactly what he would face if he transgenders. He might find that being a woman is not the answer he thinks it is, but it would be a lot easier to reverse if he has not physically altered yet.

I'm not saying my solution would be easy, but I do know people who are doing it to various degrees.
