I just was wondering if anybody has read 'the symbols' by Dan Brown and if so what you thought about it....
For those who don't know I found out that it has a lot of Mysticism and it's a good book. Very well researched.

I haven't yet. I have to find the first two first. Both of the movies were good but I really like reading the books.

If you read the books then don't watch the movies. IMO the books are better. Have fun....

I've read the book and enjoyed it. It is so well researched that you may want to take notes. I had my kids running around me while I read and got frustrated knowing that I was missing things. I loved the background on why we use the term 'sincere' when signing a letter.

If you have read a lot of his books, this is his usual formula. I don't know if I'm tired of it yet. Fortunately, his research and setting make up for the repetition of the sequence of events. I do appreciate his consistent use of intelligent females.

I'm okay with the movies. They are their own distraction. However, if you want a mental challenge, the books are always better.

I did become frustrated with some of the spiritual aspects of the overall tale. But then, I'm not considered main stream in that way.

I agree....That's why I mentioned the book. Also, I like the books better than the movies, but that is just my opinion. I think the movies are missing a lot. And I think that we all actually can learn something from the books. Shocking isn't it?

I must confess that I love the scene from Da Vinci Code where the English scholar describes the mis-translation of the term 'sangreal' through history while using modern technology in a French villa. I could watch that over and over.

I was a bit disappointed with Angels and Demons. However, as a stand-along movie they did quite well.

I'll be interested to see if they turn The Symbol into a movie. The twist at the end reads better in a book. It would be more challenging visually.
