They are not witches for sure they are "creatures". Its just that I feel that a witch can do the same without being corrupted with the need to feed on human beings. This is why I brought it up.

Anyway, don't you think that a knowledge of witchcraft may have been used also by these beings to change their form? Just want to know about your opinion. Like in the case of the "manananggal" it is said that they are supposed to rub a certain oil all over their body and mutter an encantation to detach the upper part from the lower part of their body and to acquire their wings.

I KNOW THERE USED TO BE WITCHES WHO WAS ABLE TO SHAPESHIFT BUT I DON'T KNOW IF THE KNOWLEDGE GOT LOST OR THAT WE ARE NOT POWERFUL ENOUGH. ALSO SHAPESHIFTING HAD NOTHING DO DO WITH DARK MAGICK. I THINK THEY USED IT FOR PROTECTION AND MAYBE TO SPY ON FOLKS

Yeah, that might be it. Also I think that the reason why these people turned to the dark is beacause they thought it is easier to gain power on the dark side. But as I said I'm a little bit skeptical about the dark and good forces.
