their are some people that say magic and witchcraft shouldnt be used for personal gain

( and i curse the tv show charmed every day for that lol

but the truth is we know magic exists simply because somewhere some when some one wanted something they were having problems getting on their own

im totally convinced the first spell working were cave drawings

the religion aspect came probably with his first witnessing a lightning strike and the resulting fire
realizing that he couldn't control somethings he ascribed them to a higher power

I think the whole idea of the "Devil" came out of an attempt to personify negative forces.

Isn't the Devil basically an Egregore?Isn't any name and image of a Diety a physicalised representation of the idea of said diety so we can focus on that to invoke its energies,or to reject and avoid its energies?

Anywayyyyy.I agree with twilightnight about magick just BEING,energy is neutral,it all depends on how you use it.And everybody can have a different perspective.
