Well, Black and white I believe is a way to categorize ethic and moral in the way of magic. (healing magic like Reiki is White and evoking and such is black. And it's also a great way to catch the reader in a good sci-fi book
I agree with April and Romana about magic is just magic. In fact, no one here can tell exactly what magic is. But you can say it's energy. And energy is vibrations. So there you have something to say to the new agers
Well...Danger is a state of mind! If we should avoid anything dangerous We couldn't live. Oh! I forgot, die is also dangerous. Hmm...We got a real dilemma.
Of course magic is dangerous! So are cooking mushrooms (if you don't know what you doing you will get hurt) Or Driving the car to work (Even if you is a god driver all the others on the road are not)
The whole point of life is that you can lose it! That you can feel pain! Without that, life wouldn't be worth anything!
In other words, Magic is dangerous. Nothing to play with. But it's a lot safer than other things we do daily in life. If you look back, Some time you learned to walk? Well, That could have killed you. You could have fall down the stairs before you fully mastered the skill. You have a driver license? Well, You was not an expert on driving when you were born, right? So then you learned that. But so much could have happened on the way. But we often don't reflect over it! We think, "All other do it" And thats how people begins to smoke and die!
Magic will be much more dangerous for you in the beginning than when you have "mastered" it.
Think before you act and you should be fine! But if you got family, don't ever try to change anything in your family with magic if you aren't 100% sure of what you are doing. To be responsible of Screwing up the family that you love is even worth than death itself. Or at least I feel that way.
