Okay, just to spark some discussion.....
Let hear about Astral Projecting. I am interested in the mass of opinions. Some works and crafters say there are three layers of planes that coexist. The mental, the astral and the physical. Working with this example, at its simplistic level....one would say that the mental plane is where you plan out or think of what you want. The astral is the out of body area where you actually see this happen, live it out, so to speak. Then the physical plane is where that you invisioned on the astral comes to life.
Then the other theories. The seven planes. Seven planes of existance with each having 7 sub planes and each sub plane having 7 sub divisions. In this theory the lowest level of plane is number 7 which is the Material plane where we live in our current form. The next, the 6th plane would be the Plane of forces and the 5th plane would be the astral. The 4th would be the mental. Now this is very different then the first example. By the first example the mental plane is your though plane in the material plane and you can access the astral plane to manifest into your physical plane that which you invisioned in your mental plane? Very confusing. In the current theory, it is said that the 3 higher planes can not be accessed or understood by us in our current form and therefore are no defined.
So all that having been said. Let hear about how each of you defines the astral plane, how you access it and what you do with it.
I also noted something kind of funny today on the internet on this subject. A person asked a question "if I get killed on the astral plane, will I die in the physical plane" and the answer that was given was "you need to surround your physical body with a protective circle so that no one can kill your body while you are not in it, and traveling on the astral". I understood that question to be very different then the answer that was given. Of course if you are out of your body and someone comes into the room and kills you, you are going to die. Duh! The question was if you are killed on the Astral Plane, does you body that you left behind die?
The person who wrote the second theory of planes that I wrote here refers to our astral body being attached to our physical one by a web of threads (for lack of a better way to put it) or a rope, if you will. They said that if an accident happens on the astral plane and your rope is cut, your astral body can not return to your physical body and your physical body will die. Opinions?
Im sure most know the story of Crowley fighing on the Astral Plane and his enemy causing his coat to combust into flames. Was this a reality or what happened only in the mind? If only in the mind, what happens to the spells that are cast or worked on the Astral Plane? Do we only imagine them or do they come to life?
Just something to open up some discussion around here.

HERE ARE MY 2 CENTS WORTH..... I THINK YOU ARE SCEWED EITHER WAY. IF YOUR PHYSICAL BODY DIES WHILE YOU ARE IN THE ASTRAL PLANE THEN YOU ARE EITHER JUST THERE OR YOU HAVE TO FIND ANOTHER HOST [SUITABLE BODY]. THE SAME IS PROBEBLY TRUE IF SOMETHING HAPPENS TO YOU IN THE ASTRAL PLANE. YOUR LEFT BEHIND BODY IS JUST A SHELL SO TO SPEAK AND SOMEBODY COULD SNATCH THE "SHELL" IF THEIR OWN IS UNUSABLE FOR SOME REASON OR THE OTHER. I KNOW SOME OF YOU THINK THAT THAT IS A LITTLE FAR FETCHED BUT IT IS KNOWN TO WORK.

LoL so if you see a better body while you are on the astral plane just run in and steals its shell while the astral is out. Just kidding.
Seriously though, I don't have enough experience in Astral Projection to decide either way. I have been able to travel to places known to me and sometimes I see different things. I have been able to walk around a familiar house but had a tough time maintaining it. The more I practice, the better it gets but I am still unsure as to how what you do on the astral plane effects the physical plane. For example. Say your relative is suffering from a headache, and you are astral projecting and you are in their house. If you are rubbing their forehead does it have an effect on them or is just your vision? When someone else comes to you in a dream, are they astral projecting? I want to experiment with this but not sure, without further information. There is a difference between trance state from meditation and astral projection. The other thing is that it is said that you astral project in your dream state and rarely does someone die like that so how is the risk greater when you are awake and intentionally doing this?
So many questions. Ghost where are you?

I DON'T EXACTLY KNOW RIGHT NOW HOW IT IS SUPPOSE TO WORK BUT I SAW THAT SOMEWHERE IN MY PAPERS. I HAVE TO DIG THRU THEM. I DON'T THINK THAT ONE IS ABLE TO HOP FROM ONE BODY TO THE NEXT AND I THINK THERE IS A LITTLE MORE TO IT.LOL. IF IT WERE THAT EASY WE ALL WOULD BE BODY SNATCHING BY NOW. THAT IS ACTUALLY A SCARY THOUGHT.

GRRRRR, I have errands to run this morning, but...
I promise that I will come back and talk about this. I do know that your physical body can be injured if you take injury on the astral. I've come back with bruises and even a nice little second degree burn once. Plus many is the time that I've had some persistant muscle aches and pains. But... I don't think you can die. I think that if you let the connection between your astral self and your physical self get cut you can be lost, but here again I have no personal expeience with that. Obviously, because I'm sitting here typing this.

But maybe it is your astral body sitting there typing this!
I look forward to you coming back and responding after your errands. I am more than curious what other peoples opinions of this are. There are some that say that Astral Travel is limited to remote viewing, others will say that you can actually "do" things or act on something in that state. But if you act on something in that state, are you merely manipulating energy as if you were just using deep meditation in spell work or is it different? Just some questions to spark topic.
