Please could someone recommend some great starter books for the Wiccan craft? I am new to this but interested in exploring healing, meditation and peace for myself and family. Thanks ahead for your responses.

If you are just beginning, I would recommend Silver Ravenwolf's trilogy. They are: "To ride a silver broomstick" "To stir a magic cauldron" and "To light a sacred flame" . Now, before anyone blasts me for saying that (many cast her work off as fluff) I feel that it's an easy to read beginner book that gives you enough information to pick up on your own path...some find it difficult to immediately get bogged down in the technical text. I used those books, along with "The book of shadows for the solitary witch" to provide a basic foundation that I built upon. It provided an easy to understand overview that allowed me to branch off into my own thought and path...and I enjoy her sense of humor.

Hi Blu,
For a start I would highly recomment. "Wicca for Life" by Raymond Buckley...It covers from Birth to Summerland. Blessed Be.

The Craft and The Craft companion are 2 really good books to start with. They will help explain many of the different aspects of wicca.

I bought the two books by Dorothy today. I am totally new to this and just wanna read up on it before venturing on to anything related to this subject. I don´t know if I truely believe in witchcraft but I truely believe in nature and motherearth in all her splendishness. Is there a difference? Honestly!!

anyways.... I´ll be reading those two books and get back to you.

Thanks for posting the titles though. Appriciate it immensely.

Take care

You can also try "Wicca for the Solitary Practioner" and "Living Wicca" by Scott Cunningham.

Nothing wrong with Ravenwolf's books, that's where I got my start. Buckland can be a little hard to swallow for some newer to things ( big ego). Starhawks books are good too. Start with "Spiral Dance" and go from there. There is also the Green witchcraft series.
I suppose that it depends on where you feel drawn to start with. Other suggestions... Read, read, read. Mythology, cultural practices, psychology, anthropology, sociology.
I even read and study quantum physics. Do I understand it all? No, but I understand enough to make a difference in my practice.
