You have to read a lot of everything before you can decide. Just go to the library and type in "Pagan", "Wicca", or "magick", as well as terms for anything you are particularly interested in (such as "astral projection" or "beltaine" (the latter might find you a book about holidays in general) or "faeries", and see what comes up. Reading all of these books will also help you sort out the real from the fake... yes people do actually still publish and sell fake books about magickal subjects. (I should mention however that a book that talks about making yourself physically invisible, or shooting flames out of your fingers, for example, isn't necessarily fake; some people believe these things are possible and some do not.) You can't just ask for one book recommendation and read about it, the reason is because Paganism, and even Wicca all by itself, is not just one tradition, one religion, one set of rules. If you ask each person on this forum to write a book about what a Pagan does in rules, rituals, practices, and daily life, each and every book will have many, many, differences. So you need to read enough different book to get the VERY BASIC, and then decide which one resonates most well with you personally, or make up your own.
