insight. Rowan is a tree of power causing life and magick to flower.

Willows at the waterside stand ready to help us to the Summerland.
Hawthorn is burned to purify and to draw faerie to your eye.

Hazel-the tree of wisdom and learning adds its strength to the bright fire burning.
White are the flowers of Apple tree that brings us fruits of fertility.

Grapes grow upon the vine giving us both joy and wine.
Fir does mark the evergreen to represent immortality seen.

Elder is the Lady's tree burn it not or cursed you'll be.
Four times the Major Sabbats mark in the light and in the dark.

As the old year starts to wane the new begins, it's now Samhain.

When the wheel begins to turn soon the Beltane fires will burn.
As the wheel turns to Lamas night power is brought to magick rite.

"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

What they fail to print in new versions of the rede (And I know for a fact that this line was at one point in there because a High Priestess of a local FB coven had it hanging on her living room wall):

LESS IN SELF DEFENSE IT BE
an' it harm none, do what ye will

an' it harm none, do what ye will
For Love is the law, Love under will.

They also don't include the tenets
Know thyself
What you seek you shall find not witout if you find it not within.
I am all that is attained at the end of desire.

Too many take this rather literaly. It is a guide, not a law. You can not live without causing harm. At every point you injure or kill so that you may live. Wisdom with the rede dictates that you keep in mind what your actions will bring about, and if you make a mistake, take responsibility. Try to correct the situation. Be mindful of those that have gone ahead so that you may live. Be they plant, animal, or mineral.

This is only the WICAN Rede, this forum says "WITCHCRAFT", I am Pagan, not Wiccan, and not everyone here should be Wiccan if this is a forum for witches.

You see, some Wiccans are stupid, and they will not, for example, hurt a rapist, or even bind him, because they say it hurts people. So I do not think everyone should go by this.

That is part of my point. There are definite times to "do harm", then there is the day to day forms of existance. We do not breathe without doing harm to bacteria that live in our bodies. We can't walk on the ground witout doing harm to things that live in the soil. Negative thoughts impact everyone around you, and resonate throughout the universe. So just being alive makes trying to live by "the rede" impossible. Even for those who are wiccan.

As for me... I say it's an outmoded Idea. It is a good tool to teach ethics, but The next step (self control) is never taught. You will outgrow "the rede" when you learn to think for yourself.

Is this used to help remove any curses or illwill placed on one. Please I am desprite - I don't know how much more I can take. I don't know why, or what I did to hurt anyone but I have been jumping hurdles most of my life. I need to protect myself and my family, but I do not want to hurt anyone in the process.
