The Art of Spell Casting

Spell Craft is the art of creating and casting spells. As many witches, wizards, or magicians progress along the path of Witchcraft, Wicca, or any other Pagan spiritual path, they will design their own spells to suit their needs.

When a budding witch or wizard begins to follow the pagan path of their choice most usespells that have been passed down for many ages that have been tired and proven quite effective; and there is nothing wrong with this. In fact, it is generally best to start with such spells. This makes it easier for the witch or wizard to gain confidence in his or her spell crafting abilities.

As the witch or wizard builds their grimoire of spells, eventually they start to craft their own effective spells. Taking an existing spell sometimes does this and “tweaking” it to sut the personal needs and desires of the said witch or wizard. From this point it's only a matter of time before one is crafting spells of their own and casting them with as much effectiveness as the witches and wizards from ages past that trod the very same path.

Casting a spell is usually a simple task depending on the tools and materials used. Generally, the more simple the better. Spell crafting and casting is merely a tool used to focus the energies of the witch or wizard. So-called 'love spells' are a good example of this. In most cases a candle of a specific color and some incense are most effective when done with a certain chant. Some use a picture of the person they are lusting after, or some of that person's hair, handwriting, or an object owned by the desired one to help focus the spell on that person.

In all cases caution and wisdom should be used whenever crafting and casting a spell. The Cosmic laws governing such things will give you what you ask for—just make sure it is what you want. Always remember the law of 3, which is you will get what you send out back 3 times stronger as well as the basic law of most witches and pagans every where, 'And it harm no one, do as ye will.'

From this one can assume that if they undertake a spell crafting/casting that is intended to cause great harm to another then they better have a great deal of confidence that they can block the returning energies of such a dark spell. It is always better to never to start on that path of what would ultimately lead to self-destruction. That said, the art of spell crafting can be a very rewarding and enjoyable experience to those who decide to follow the path of a witch or wizard. Remember: have fun, be careful what you ask for, and then craft away!
