Good morning, and a Happy New Year to all -

 Last year through another site, a friend from college got in touch with me.  It seems he was badly injured at work a year prior and, since it's not an "easy fix" injury, he's still out of work.  He's in a lot of pain and, on the advice of his doctors (including a couple of specialists), takes a lot of pain medications every day.  He was recently told he is permanently disabled and receives only a portion of what his normal pay would have been if he was still able to work

His wife, who has never had to suffer through anything this long term, doesn't understand and moved out of their home over the summer.  She keeps telling him that she wants to save the marriage, but all she seems to do is make him jump through hoops without any intention of returning home.

Needless to say, he's in great emotional, physical and financial distress.

As I suffered similar damage to his some time ago and was helped through it by friends, I've been trying to "pay it forward", but my supportive emails and prayers don't seem to be helping.  I'm looking for spells to help him find happiness, emotionally and financially, but the few I've come across have only resulted in what I think of as a "Divine Smack Down", as they result in ME getting into emotional and financially stressful situations while he suffers on.

Any help from those who've been Wiccan longer than I?
